I think I might have just gotten fired, I’m not sure but something really awkward just happened and it ended with a really awkward silence and me slowly backing away from the conversion while making eye contact and then slowly closing the door. So just in case, I’m writing my letter of resignation in case someone tries to fire me – that way I can resign before they get a chance to taint my outstanding resume.

F*ck you, f*ck you, f*ck you. You ass holes! You bastards have got some nerve. I hope the espresso machine breaks down and you have to drink Starbucks for weeks. I should have shitted in your coffees the first time you called me a nerd and laughed at my big glasses and cheap work shoes when I was just an intern - and I worked in McDonald’s for 3 good years, so you know I’m really good at that. I’ll stir it up real nice and add extra cream - you’ll never know. Now, I am hereby handing you my two weeks’ notice, it will arrive in 3 minutes. Skeet Skeet Skeet m*ther f*ckers. That’s how I sealed the envelope, which you’ve now unsealed. Sticky wasn't it? 

PS: I’ve totally messed with all your browser histories and you’ll never be able to clear them. Not even the overzealous tech guys will be able to help you. Just don’t try to show anyone your Google ANALytics data on your computers from now on. You’ll have a healthy selection of really creepy butt hole related suggestions in the address bar once you are half way through typing the address. I’m sure you are wondering why I just totally gave it away. It’s because there’s more. You’ll all need new browsers, say goodbye to ShittyFox, or FireFuck, or whatever you call that good for nothing slow piece of crap that needs an update every two days. I’m also changing all your passwords and cutting holes in the mouth and crotch of all your life-sized Miley Cyrus cardboard cut-outs and posters. Why the f*ck do you have so many anyway? You're obsessed!

Is it too harsh? Or does it need more RAGE!! I’ve got more, trust me – I’ll be really furious if I get fired, I just bought a brand new Ferrari. Okay I didn't, it's a rental with New Car Scent air freshener. Plus I’ve been nothing but awesome, AWESOME you hear? In fact the other day I saw someone trying to drive home after one of our crazy Monday night office parties and I totally took her back to my place so she wouldn’t drive drunk. See how nice I am? There are so many other examples. 

And I’m sure you would like to know why I think I’m getting fired right? I’ll tell you. 

My boss called me into her office early this morning. I was having an awesome day, just minding my own business. She asked me to sit, that she needed help with something really important. She couldn’t figure out whether to pay the mortgage on her holiday house or her holiday apartment. The first thing I thought when that information met my ears was “I’m asking for a pay rise IMMEDIATELY”. I can’t even pay my own rent sometimes, and this b*tch’s got TWO holiday homes?!!! I’ve never even been on holiday!! I was FURIOUS! But then I said: “Well why don’t you just get rid of the apartment and keep the house if you can’t afford them both? Why do you need 2 holiday homes anyway?” 

She screamed back: “It’s in case I need a f* holiday while I’m on holiday you f* idiot, I do more work on holiday than you’ll ever do your entire life!!”. “And, and what do you mean get rid of it? It’s an investment – do you know how much I’m gonna sell it for in a few years? Of course you don’t, you know nothing about the real world, you probably pay ALL your bills on time and then invest what's left don’t you? Sissy boy!!”. "Wait, do you even invest? Have you EVER invested? Why am I talking to you? Jesus Christ, I'm surrounded by morons! MORONS!" And then she laughed, but in a really sinister way, as if I wasn't even there anymore, and she went back to what she was writing before I came in. As she laughed I responded in a really soft voice, I was getting scared: “Em, isn’t that what you’re supposed to do? Pay your bills first?”. And she responded in disgust, she couldn't believe I was serious and I could tell she had concluded that she had wasted so much time talking to an idiot. “OMG!”, “You’re absolutely insane aren’t you?”, “Next thing I know you’ll be telling me to pay my bills monthly by Direct Debit, so people can take money out of my pockets without asking”. When she noticed me about to nod in agreement, she got steamed. She pointed her finger at the door with an expressionless face to let me know she was beyond mad at me. “Get out… GET OUT!! And don’t ever come back here”. It was so awkward, I’ve never been kicked out of anywhere before. To be honest I was more than a little bit scared at that point, so I got up and started to leave really fast, but continued to make eye contact, then I slowed down when I reached the door and started to feel safer. I haven’t seen her all day but I know it’s going to be really uncomfortable. At least I’ve got my resignation letter ready just in case. Okay let’s get right down to the music news story of the day – this may be my last day here at the SRL News room so I’ll make this brief and then I’ll go and start doing those things I said I had already done in the resignation letter.

With hit singles like "Strokin", "High School Lover" and "Have Your Heart", he sang his way into the hearts of local fans and put his name on the map as one of the Southwest region's next big names in R&B when he made his debut a few years back. "Marco Richh is professionally and formally known as Reggie B and Sanger Boy. Since the susceptible age of five years old, music has been Marco's passion. Beginning with playing a Fisher Price piano at age six, his father saw his raw talent and quickly signed him up for music lessons. Marco would eventually learn how to play the guitar, saxophone and the drums. The beginning of his musical ingenuity began here. "Put the kid on one more time!", those were the only words that could express SXSW's appreciation of what was experienced when hip hop artist Drevo Coolidge blazed the stage in front of an unsuspecting crowd on the 18th of March at Club Teller, Austin, Texas, USA. But we'll get back to that music news story a little bit later. First, I've got some important stuff I need to get off my chest. You'll love it, I promise - I mean them ("wink, wink"). 

I wasn’t going to come in to work today, to be honest. I felt like I was looking a little chunky in the dress I had picked out for Wednesday - almost like 50 Cent at the last Super Bowl, but with perkier breasts, he-he-he.  But while I was making brownies after my morning coffee I caught the Holy Ghost (or something) and it brought me straight to you. 

Welcome! I hope you are having a wonderful day. If you are not, we’re about to change that. If you are… I’m sorry to tell you, but it could go either way from here. 

My previous music news article got a lot of people really angry so I’m going to try to be a little gentler with my words today. Just kidding, I totally won’t. In fact here’s a little disclaimer for you before we get started, and I’m saying it out of love and in the nicest way possible: if you really love Jesus; this probably isn’t the place God wants you to be right now. And no, not just when the cops pull you over and you've been drinking, and plus you're on EVERYTHING, but every time. AND you go to church EVERY Sunday (not just on Easter Sunday when you've go a new suit). I’m sorry to have to break it to you so plainly but if you don’t leave right now you’re gonna feel like you sat on a Sneakers bar accidentally after reading this. AND you'll totally love it, to make matters worse. [Read my previous article here to find out why everyone was so mad.] I’m not saying you’ll be gay, I’m just saying I’m about to say some really f*cked up stuff that will make sitting on a Sneakers bar by mistake not seem so bad. I haven’t written it yet but I can feel it coming, like in that Phil Collins song “In The Air Tonight”. Or wait, who sang that song, DMX? Hold on let me Google it. Ah, I see: Lil’ Kim, Ray Wilson, Lostprophets, and more than 87 other musicians and bands I’ve never heard of, plus Phil Collins who originally wrote the song, and DMX who sampled it. To cut a long story short, you’re gonna be more depressed than that Stan guy in that Eminem song, “Stan”. Or wait, who sang that one again? Dildo? Dido? Canibus? WTF! I hate when people borrow songs, like that Kanye West guy, and that Poof Daddy guy too (Oops!! Did I do that? Just kidding, I love Diddy). Just write your own music m-kay? That's all I'm saying. To me, sampling a song is like breaking into somebody’s house and stealing all their good sh*t, and then offering to pay them a little cut of what you sold it for. Am I lying? Isn’t that what they’re doing essentially? He-he-he.

Okay let’s get right into it. Don’t worry we’ll get into the news story right after this, I promise. This is really important stuff that I need to get off my chest first. I hate that Shaq’s girlfriend is regular people’s size. Isn’t that so annoying? Shouldn't he be married to Sasquatch or Godzilla or somebody like that? Nothing that big will fit in any hole, how do they have sex in the armpit? That’s the only place I can think of that will work. Like in that famous Elephant Joke – that should give you a good picture. Wait, don’t tell me you haven’t heard the Elephant Joke. (“Sigh”) What are they teaching you kids in school these days?! I bet you haven’t heard the Mercedes Benz joke either. WHAT?!! Arrrghh! I can’t believe this. Okay I’ll tell you. Well actually I can’t tell you – they’re visual jokes so you’ll have to watch them on YouTube. Here’s the Elephant Joke. And Here’s the Mercedes Benz Joke. When you come back here we will be on the same page and everything I say from here will make total sense to you even though you’d never really thought about it. Like finding out Shaq’s treadmill is the entire length of a football field. 

I was thinking about some of the weird stuff Millennials have said to me in the past that I don't understand. Like: “That’s so lit”... "Sheesh!!"... "Cigarettes are bad, let's smoke these air fresheners instead and call them something cool that sounds like Darth Vader"... and ... "I'm a vegan, I only eat p*ssy on Sundays when Jesus is resting" ... or how about this one? it's my favourite ...  "let's save the planet, but let's burn all this sweet grass first so we can get really high while we're doing it - we'll plant more, promise" ... and ... “your mum is so hawt” ... and ... "let's shit in each other's mouths and call it Milk And Cookies" - seriously, Google Milk And Cookies and see if you ever eat Oreos again. And don't confuse it with Cookies And Milk, which is still disgusting but it's not the same thing at all. You might think I'm making a fuss but trust me, you'll never be the same again if someone you loved and trusted ever tried to shit in your mouth when you least expected it because they thought you knew and were down with the game plan. And there's even weirder stuff they say, like: “tattoos make your d*ck look bigger” and my favourite one: “being gay is trendy”. Okay I know you’ve probably never heard them saying the last two; but I know they’re thinking it. And I respond in thought as well, and an expressionless face like Dua Lipa's: “No, it doesn’t!”, and "f*ck no, being gay is not trendy - people have been being gay for many many years”. Haven’t you heard that Bible passage? You know, THAT Bible passage? Wink, wink, wink. I’m pretty sure whoever wrote it didn’t mean to say it like that, but it was SOOO Gay when I heard it first. In fact when I heard it I got up immediately and walked straight out of the church right in the middle of the mass. I’ve never been back ever since. I’m not going back until somebody fixes that passage. We were in the middle of the third reading and all I heard was: “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat me, you shall have no life in you”. It’s John 6:53, get a Bible and read it for yourself, I didn’t make that up. It’s worded differently in different Bibles but say what you want, I know what I heard, and I’m sticking with it. Okay to be honest, I’m starting to doubt my recollection a bit now so I’m going to bow out of this topic awkwardly when you least expect it – I drink really hard on Saturday nights sometimes, a Saturday night is such a terrible thing to waste. Darn, I knew I shouldn’t have been writing while I was making brownies, it never goes well – last time I dropped my good stylus in the toilet bowl as I was getting up and I had to retrieve it because I needed it for work that day. Aaaarrghhh, does this mean I have to start going to church again? Fuuckkk!!! This is so annoying, I was getting really good at sinning .. Now I have to start paying taxes again and washing my hands when I pee... and stop kissing my friends sometimes to see if I'm still straight after watching MTV for one whole hour (yes, I am - straighter than Indian hair) ... And start paying for parking... and wearing underwear.. and really long skirts... aaargggh! This is BS! Let’s get right down to this news story shall we? 

Today’s music news story features none other than fast-rising Mississippi, US rapper Drevo Coolidge. Things have really been heating up in his career of late and we are watching closely every step of the way to make sure we never miss a beat or even worse, a hit. His new album “Blck Tape” is trending everywhere so if you haven’t got it make sure you check it out on Spotify, Apple Music or whatever music service you use to discover and listen to music. I recently discovered that Indians talk too fast for me to understand in normal everyday conversation. Does that make me racist in this utterly sensitive and overly-censored, algorithm governed world we live in today where everyone is tiptoeing around everyone's feelings. Ooops!! I mean everyone’s Tweets? Am I even allowed to say those words to anybody? I’m sure there is someone reading this with raised eye brows right now, 😊. Sorry if I have offended you already so early in what seemed like such a promising news story, I'm notorious for doing that. In fact if I have, you’d better stop reading now because I’m pretty sure I’ll do it again. I’m going somewhere with this, don’t worry, and you’ll see I wasn’t being racist. 

The other day, one of my colleagues asked for my signature. But he didn’t just say, “hey, could you sign here please”, or whatever normal people would say in a normal world. No, not in these crazy times when nothing is normal anymore and words don’t mean what they should anymore – darn millennials and their internet slang! They ruined EVERYTHING! 

The words that met my ears were “let me have your hand on my cock please”. “What?!”, I bellowed out angrily and followed with several bad words in disgust and told him to F* the F* off before I put my big ass Kanye West boots in his you know what. “How dare he?!”, I thought to myself. I didn’t know who it was that said that because I had my back turned as I worked frantically at whatever deadline I had looming at the time - I did not meet it by the way, and no, I wasn't sorry. No, not because I'm a total ass, but because I tried my best and that's all that counts (isn't it?). Anyway, before turning around I added to my thoughts, “It'd better be Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt or George Clooney or Taylor Swift that’s saying that sh*t to me on a Monday morning”. Not like I was going to do it but because anyone else would have gotten Will Smithed straight away – and in a proper way, not like a sissy, and I wouldn’t cry after doing it like a big ass baby. So anyway I turned around with a stern look and noticed the piece of paper and the pen being handed to me then I put two and two together and furnished it with an Indian accent in my head and realised that what I really heard was “let me have your John Hancock please”. 

I know, phew! right? 

But anyway, my point was… wait, what was my point again? 

Ah yes, that it's perfectly normal for people to express their concerns about things so that matters can be discussed openly and properly like adults instead of bottling it all up and exploding in someone's face like a 13 year old's first 3 seconds of a Cardi B video. I admit my reaction was a bit harsh but it was a Monday morning and I was still loaded on all the whisky and other amazing stuff God put on this fine earth for you and me (wink, wink, wink). Later, I went over to his desk, apologised and explained to him that he spoke too fast for me to understand most of the time; and then proceeded to sign his cock. Oops!! I mean give him my John Hancock, he-he-he. The next day when I got into the office I was met with boos and people threw balled up papers at me calling me a racist scum bag, can you believe that sh*t?

Anyway, I just thought I’d get that off my chest to see what everyone else thinks because I’ve been feeling really bad about it. I’m not a racist and I’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for my comments because I clearly offended everybody. I also kindly ask that whoever is doing it should stop drawing willies on my computer monitor and putting big black dildos on my chair, which I accidentally sit on every single time. Not cool guys, not cool. 

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get right down to the music news story of the day. 

As you may (or may not know), Frank Palangi, New York’s independent rock sensation is also a film maker, screenwriter, podcaster, producer, engineer, vocal coach, guitar tutor, songwriter and actor; and he has recently added the title of radio show host to his resume after securing his own show on the popular UK radio station Radio Wigwam. The show has quickly gained popularity among die hard indie music fans and continues to grow, with bigger and bigger guests being invited every subsequent episode to discuss their music careers. The next episode, which is scheduled for the 24th of January at 8 PM GMT, features critically acclaimed singer Matt Walst, famous for being a member of the popular bands Three Days of Grace and My Darkest Days.

For a musician, those six words could make all the difference between playing music in a bedroom and giving it away free until eventually calling it quits; and having an illustrious career in the music industry. Many artists nowadays tend to focus more on social media likes and shares, going viral, Tik Tok videos, getting on popular Spotify playlists, getting more streams on streaming services, and creating a buzz; which are all very important as well, but they will never be as important as creating amazing music. Music composer Megan McDuffee is a prime example. Throughout her career she has landed projects with some of the biggest television and film production companies in the United States and composed music for everything from small indie games to trailers and soundtracks for big budget films. Her latest job was to compose music for the trailer of a new film titled “Wrong Turn”, which she did, and was spectacular as usual. A reporter for Australia’s popular free music magazine, Mixdown heard it and thought to himself, “this is really cool, I wonder who produced it”. One thing led to another and before long Megan was doing an interview for the next issue of the magazine, which is distributed nationwide. So let this be a lesson for you; if you are a musician reading this, focus on creating amazing music and let everything else fall into place. Like most musicians, if not all, independent Brooklyn, New York solo rock sensation Frank Palangi’s gigging schedule has taken several big blows over the past 9 months owing to the coronavirus pandemic. Prior to the pandemic Frank played almost every self-respecting live music venue, concert hall and community event in New York and the East Coast of the United States; and had become a crowd favorite at local sporting events owing to his signature style of performing the national anthem. It’s hard to go from all that to nothing at all, so of course, like many successful musicians have done, he has taken his show online. In addition to gigging live online independently and featuring on popular music live streams, online radio stations and podcasts, Frank also recently started an Instagram Live series which airs every week and features live interviews with emerging as well as fairly established musicians, bands, songwriters, producers and other exciting people who have made a career for themselves in the music industry. During the show, which has a special guest every week, they discuss everything from new releases, current projects and upcoming releases to career history, goals and objectives, life events, studio equipment, production and performance techniques, relationships and everything in-between. The last episode of the series featured Tennessee, US rock music producer, Rogers Masson of Audrey Sound, who discussed some of his projects and career history live from his recording studio. The next episode in the series is scheduled for today, the 18th of November at 5PM EST when Frank will be chatting live with bassist and radio host, Anthony Zee Donaldson. INSIDE CRISSI COCHRANE'S NEW SINGLE

Windsor’s pride, critically acclaimed emerging singer songwriter, Crissi Cochrane is hitting all the right notes with her latest single, “Can We Go Back”. Originally due in stores back in June, the release was postponed owing to the social unrest that ensued as a result of racial inequality, police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement, which were making headlines at the time following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, USA and the ripple effects it had all over the world. In a blog post, the fast-rising Ontario star said she feared the lyrics of the song might have been misinterpreted and she was even considering changing them ahead of its new release date, which she speculated could be sometime in September. The track was eventually released on the 14th of August. It received and continues to receive an amazing response from Canadian soul music fans and critics; radio, press and television networks; and music industry insiders, many of whom have supported and watched closely since the release of “Pretty Words”, which went viral with over 5 million plays on Spotify back in 2016 and made her one of the most successful fully independent Canadian soul musicians of all time. This week she was interviewed by CTV Windsor (channel 26), CBC Radio (97.5 FM) and the Windsor Star newspaper. She discussed the pandemic-inspired single and her career so far, and also performed the song live on her porch. [Watch interview below]

EYENINE INTERVIEW AFTER TOUR CANCELLED

A couple of weeks back, Eyenine announced that his ongoing tour had to be cancelled for the safety of fans and in compliance with new and ongoing restrictions which have been put in place in various US cities and states. The “Old Cough Tour” with underground rappers Googie, LT Headtrip, Lamon Manuel and Farout, and venues in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, San Bernardino, Phoenix, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Asheville, Charleston, Cleveland, Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago, Oshkosh, St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City, Lawrence, Sioux City and Denver, which was scheduled to take place from the 17th of February till the 22nd of March sadly came to an end on the 14th of March, just over a week before it was due to end. There has been no talk of rescheduling any of the remaining 7 dates. Eyenine was on the popular underground hip hop radio show, LFOD a few days later where he spoke about the tour and other new developments in his career. [Listen below]
