LYK DIS

Music industry update | New York, USA | Indie artist, Tamara Bubble

Weird stuff keeps me up late at night sometimes. Like: why wouldn’t Ross and Rachel from “Friends” just get back together? They were on a break darn it! Why couldn’t she just understand, and just deal with it? Huh?! I’ve done worse on my lunch break and no one ever found out. Oops!! I’ve said too much. Let’s move on quickly ...

Or that Laura girl from that old “Family Matters” show. Why wouldn’t she just get with Steve and give him a chance? He wanted her so so bad. Good lord, he wanted her Bad!

But you know what really keeps me up at night? When is Uber going to start hiring more female or female-friendly drivers? I’m sick of these darn "speed racers"  (and yes, I'm pretty sure they cum too quick as well 😆, after all that's what speed racers do), driving crazy like that driver in that old movie “Ghost”. Sometimes I actually wake up the morning after with only vague memories of getting in a cab; feeling like a ghost and dreading the worst - that the Uber crashed and I died. Then I remember what I’d been doing before getting in the taxi, phew!! and I'm totally relieved. In case you were wondering what I'd been doing, none of your business okay - just stuff. Okay I hang out around rappers sometimes late at night after work alright? You got me. Sue me. And no, I’m no Bill Clinton or Snoop Doggy Dogg, but if you smoke around me I’ll be sure to inhale it, every last bit of it, right before telling you off for smoking indoors or nearby and storming out like I didn't enjoy every bit of it for the several hours that had past, he-he-he.

But this is not about me, or Uber drivers that cum too quick...

Brooklyn, New York hip hop sensation Tamara Bubble just released a hot new record with emerging Utah indie pop sensation Shanin Blake. Like many records Tamara has released since the start of her illustrious independent music career, the record is causing a stir among her peers and is once again threatening to raise the bar for emerging female rappers and R&B singers so high Wiz Khalifa would try to reach it (but he's not a female rapper, so he'll never get there obviously). According to many critics this one will be sure to keep a lot of female rappers up at night. The music video for the new track "Lyk Dis" premiered on YouTube on the 1st of June. The song is available to stream and download on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and all popular digital music streaming and download platforms and apps.

Released on the 21st of March, “Boss Moves” is one of several hot new underground hip hop records that is once again causing pandemonium on the East Coast of the United States’ vibrant, highly competitive hip hop scene.

But Brooklyn’s fast-rising independent rap sensation Tamara is changing all that. With back to back hit singles, each one better than the last, almost every month, sometimes twice a month even, she is taking her independent hip hop career to levels other rappers wouldn't even dear to dream of going fully independently.

MAY DESTROY YOU

Music industry update | New York, USA | Indie artist, Tamara Bubble

The new album by independent Brooklyn, New York rap star Tamara Bubble has come at a time when the music industry is in a very vulnerable place both creatively and fiscally. It is shaking every speaker and leaving every hip hop artist and music industry insider on the underground scene with something to think about. But what are they really thinking about after they listen to, what is being called “the final nail in the coffin

of bubblegum rap"? Or are they just literally speechless? Well, the truth is no one may ever really know, since it is in fact impossible to know what anyone else is thinking unless they spill the beans, but the only thing that’s for sure judging from the general vibe that is going around is that the album will blaze a trail for female rappers - both mainstream and underground, that will be very hard to follow but crucial in the "redemption" of the genre. If your favorite female rapper chews a lot of gum and blinks really fast but can’t seem to do both at the same time without looking absolutely confused consider this album a wake up call that there may never be another “new” Nicki Minaj or the other one, what’s her butt, in the post-pandemic era of hip hop, and a lot less pink (phew! sorry Jay 😁). To cut a long story short this album is giving off the vibes of a total game-changer, but that’s just the word on the street. Look out for the official review on SRL Reviews.

Stream and download “I May Destroy You” on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon and all popular digital music apps, as well as Soundcloud and selected indie music promotion platforms. [Listen below]

The second season of BET Network’s television series, Boomerang premiered on the 11th of March. It featured the brand new record, “B.O.S.S” by Brooklyn, New York independent hip hop star, Tamara Bubble who has enjoyed a fair number of licensed music placements on the network over the past couple of years. Tamara's fan base has grown and continues to grow almost exponentially since the release of her critically acclaimed album, “Your Favorite Rapper Is A Girl” which was released back in 2017. It was an album that has changed the way real hip hop music connoisseurs look at and listen to female rappers till  today. Sure, she is a hundred times more creative and a hundred times more talented than the majority of the femcees out there according to critics and fans, but Tamara has proven to male hip hop fans and the US hip hop community as a whole that female rap music is not all about fake butt implants, fake boobies, really long eye lashes, slow banana eating and Barbie doll antics that are more annoying than sexy. “B.O.S.S” was also featured on Season 2, Episode 6 of Hulu’s series, Shrill. FORGOT YOUR NAME

With so much going on in hip hop, and the music industry as a whole today, it's so easy to forget where it all began and what the genre and music in general is all about. Luckily with dedicated and prolific independent artists like Tamara Bubble, New York's die-hard hip hop fans needn't worry about having that problem again. She has taken Brooklyn by storm and made it clear that 2019 is her year with back-to-back hit after hit after hit and it doesn't look or sound like she's stopping anytime soon - in fact, she claims she's just beginning.

During the summer, she released some of her most successful records to date and had more licensed music placements on popular television and film networks like HBO, BET, Hulu, World Surf League and Entertainment Tonight, where she seems to have gained the favor of music supervisors since back in December 2018 when her song, "Buddy" premiered on BET's new program, "Hustle In Brooklyn". But just because summer is over doesn't mean the heat is gone. She returned with a new single, "Forgot Your Name" on the 3rd of September and then just over 2 weeks later she released "Boss", another single that is following suit with everything she has done this year and keeping fans not just raving but also holding on tight to their seats as she careers through the world of hip hop leaving no metaphor unrhymed and every wack competitor on their back. Both records are available to stream and download on Soundcloud and popular free music promotion platforms, as well as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon and all popular digital music services where you can also find the rest of her extensive repertoire right from her early days as an R&B singer.
