The music industry, and the world as a whole is slowly but surely emerging from the shadows, as if from hibernation, as 2020 goes further into the past; lockdown restrictions are tentatively eased; and Coronavirus vaccines are rolled out one vulnerable age group at a time from the top down. Everything is slowly getting back up to speed here as well, and all the amazing independent and underground musicians and bands we know and love so much are emerging with new projects and amazing tunes they’ve been working on during the course of lockdown. They've all been nothing short of spectacular so far. 

This week, New Hampshire, US underground hip hop star and battle rap champ Eyenine emerged with news about a new music video in the works. For anyone who knows about the Dover sensation this is big news, not only because he is so amazing on the microphone but because he is so creatively masterful that when visuals come into the picture his works become nothing short of masterpieces that will be frozen in time as future hip hop classics in a category of their own somewhere between the reincarnation of hip hop and its 9th death. So what’s this music video then? Well, there hasn’t been any word about whether it’s a new track or a video of something already released but we’ve got a few pictures from the first night of the video shoot below (and above). Miami’s reggae music scene hasn’t been the same since independent artist, Honorebel’s highly anticipated album, “Above The Noise” hit stores back in December. After several years in the making there was no doubt it was destined to be a classic, but it defied every expectation ten times over and is poised to be one of the greatest independent reggae releases of all-time. The album boasts a whopping 16 tracks with special features from Rick Ross and a host of world renowned artists. This week, Honorebel announced that the video shoot for one of the top records on the album, “Be Free” is now in the final stages of production and due to be released soon.

Having worked behind the scenes for several years as a video game and film music composer, Megan is well-versed in the terminologies musicians and music industry professionals use to describe sounds - she wouldn't have been able to win so many awards or deliver such amazing results on so many projects otherwise. She's is able to convey exactly what she feels, how she wants listeners to feel and exactly what sound she is going for in every single one of her songs, something only great artists and bands are able to do. As the buzz for Brooklyn, New York independent hip hop star, Tamara Bubble's latest single, "B.O.S.S" continues to grow rapidly just over a month after its release back in September, Tamara has announced that the music video for its predecessor, "Forgot Your Name" is now in the final stages of production and is due to be released shortly. "Forgot Your Name" was released on the 3rd of September, just over 2 weeks before "B.O.S.S", and together the two singles are causing a whole lot of pandemonium locally as well as regionally. Her latest album, "Your Favorite Rapper Is A Girl" still ranks as one of Brooklyn's hottest releases by a female emerging artist this decade, over a year since its release back in 2018. "Cent With A Purpose", a collaborative album she did shortly after with independent pop artist, Pretty Pennies also ranks very close.

Music video shoot for "Big Flex"

Arkansas, US underground hip hop sensation, DC's latest single is doing things that had never been thought possible for an independent hip hop release in 2019. It's causing pandemonium everywhere and anyone who is anyone in the music industry wants a piece of it. Released in the thick of the summer, the single quickly secured him an 11 date tour which began in August and has already been through a good number of notable venues in Arkansas and Georgia, with a few dates in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama left to be confirmed. The music video for the single, which features Jay Lew from the popular MTV series, Wild 'n Out is now in the process of being filmed and we've got some behind the scenes clip and shots that may or may not be featured in the final cut. KC Jockey is one of the hardest working independent reggae artists New York has ever seen. Hailing from Brooklyn, he was born in Jamaica and his sound is a unique blend of pop, R&B and reggae. He is also an actor with a good number of independent film roles under his belt. His latest single, "Love In The Air" has just over 7.5 million plays on Soundcloud. BMG artist, Blanco Brown who recently made his debut and hit number 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart with the single, "The Git Up" hails from Atlanta and has produced songs for Chris Brown and Pitbull. His sound is an exciting blend of country and rap music. "The Git Up" currently has just over 20 million streams on Spotify. This week the two announced that they'll be teaming up to work on a record. Tennessee, US underground rap star, Durt Boi is nothing like any other rap artist out there today. Last time we checked in with KC Jockey he was working with Sean Paul on a commercial for a club. The two first met back in 2002. When Sean made his international breakthrough with the release of his second album, "Dutty Rock", KC, who had only recently started his record label, Sweet Sadie's Productions quickly seized the opportunity to be first to book Sean Paul's first ever US concert as an international artist. The gig took place at the Albany Manor Hall in Brooklyn, New York.

KC is an artist who is always working. He's one of those artists you'll never find standing still. Apart from being an exceptional reggae singer, songwriter, producer and record label owner, KC jockey is also a philanthropist, an actor and a concert promoter, and never shies away from new ventures in the entertainment industry. The independent Jamaican star, who is based in Brooklyn, New York released his latest single, "Love In The Air" to critical acclaim in both mainstream and independent circles in Jamaica, in the US and even internationally, and shortly after embarked on a radio promo tour to promote the record while also shooting an official music video and juggling other projects. His latest project is an independent film titled "Hard Head Makes Soft A**es" (unconfirmed). KC is known to always keep fans updated with what he's doing with ample behind the scenes clips so we are expecting a lot of them from the movie set.
