Music industry update | California, USA | Indie artist, Idrise

Hailed as one of the most authentic new R&B artists out of California in a very long time, Idrise has had an illustrious career as an independent musician since he made his debut with the release of “Fallin” back in 2012. He has since shared the stage with some of the biggest names in entertainment nationally and internationally, won MTV awards, and topped iTunes' and several European music charts. He suddenly dropped of the radar for a while in terms of music releases over the past year and fans where shocked to find out why when he was featured on NBC’s coverage of Homeboy Industries’ music healing program which is aimed at helping people who have been through or are going through difficult circumstances. Idrise later confirmed on social media that he has in fact been working with the Los Angeles based not-profit organisation for a while now and that he may have found his calling as an artist. IDRISE'S KENNETH COLE SPONSORSHIP

He's one of those independent artists that exceeds the expectations of what independent musicians are capable of every single time and Idrise only gets better with time. The Los Angeles, US independent R&B music sensation's last project, "La Noche", a collaborative record with indie artists Grant Kemp, Ekin and Black Mattic was released just over a month ago to rave reviews and was quickly followed by a new solo record, "Tequila" on the 28th of April. He has just announced that yet another project is nearing completion. The forthcoming release, the music video for another critically acclaimed collaborative project from earlier this year, "Patrona" is now in the final stages of post-production and due to be released any time now. The project caught the eye of designer fashion brand, Kenneth Cole who sponsored the shoot and supplied Idrise's gear. The official release date for the video is yet to be announced and will be provided here as soon as it becomes available. The single, which was released on the 28th of February is available to stream and download on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play Music and all popular digital music services.

FORGET ABOUT WHAT SHOULD BE

If there's anything good music is always notorious for, it's the subtle, intelligent and insightful quotes and messages that could result when artists take time to carefully write their lyrics and really think about what they are saying. Idrise is one of such artists. Being a music producer, a sound engineer, a great performer, an amazing singer and an all-round entertainer overall, it's easy for him to go the down the route many popular artists seem to be taking nowadays and just sing what could only be described as the first thing that comes to their minds when they hear a backing track, record it, mix it down and send it off for mastering - but not this guy. It only takes a quick look through Idrise's massive discography, which dates back to 2012 when he released his very first single, "Falling" to realise that he pays close attention to what he's doing and saying both artistically and lyrically.

The high-flying California based independent R&B sensation's latest single, "What Should Be" was released on the 22nd of June. Though the single has already been hailed as one of Summer 2018's top independent hits, it seems to be living in the shadows of his latest collaboration, "Drinks On Us", a sinlge with rapper B-Pac that is causing a lot of pandemonium in LA and beyond.

California, US independent R&B singer, Idrise is back with another hot new track. Having shocked the world time and time again with hit after hit, topped iTunes music charts and European music charts and received music awards from some of the top awarding bodies including MTV, the LA indie music sensation, who has played alongside some of the world's top artists and bands, nationally and internationally, is somehow still managing to leave many critics and fans lost for words with his latest track.

Released on the 20th of July, just 2 days ago, the new song, "Drinks On Us", a collaboration with independent rapper, B-Pac is already on the lips of many top DJs and music industry influencers and  rapidly climbing up music charts far and wide.
