The pandemic came with a lot of problems, but it also opened our eyes up to a lot of things we wouldn't ordinarily have paid any attention to before. Like not looking your girlfriend in the eyes during sex for a whole year, because you've vowed to only do it doggie style till she's fully vaxed obviously (not because you hate her guts but love that booty too much to quit it); then she can go back to spitting on your cock and all that amazing stuff you love - you filthy, filthy boy). Like finding out what it really feels like to drink at home alone on a Friday night and save all your hard earned money - not amazing at all ey? even with all the extra money in your pockets; just as you suspected. Like taking an actual walk because there is absolutely nowhere to go. Like finally not having to feel guilty for not shaking peoples' filthy hands (because lord knows what they've been doing with them - whether they washed them after or not; yuk, yuk, yuk). Like watching the news and actually being concerned about what's going on in your community, and actually feeling like it directly affects you, not just the crazy people around that are not woke, untouchable and awesome like you. Like walking into the bank wearing a mask and gloves and not being tackled to the ground immediately, whether you brought your gun or not. Most importantly, you got to experience what it's like to have no friends - and no, friends can't kiss (Eddie Murphy was totally lying) - real friends. But enough about what you learned, this is not about you.
Musicians have used these unprecedented times and the surplus of available (not spare) time that came with it to explore new avenues, dig deeper into the depths of their musical abilities and work on more projects than ever before simultaneously. Even before the pandemic,
Mississippi rapper Drevo Coolidge's music catalog was growing at an alarming rate and doing things to fans’ ears that no other rapper had done before. He continued to release music during the pandemic and is still releasing music just as regularly. This week, on the 13th of August, he unveiled his latest project, a new album titled “Book of Drevo” exclusively on
LÜM Music.
