Over the years, R&B music is one of those genres that played a huge part in not just shaping other genres, but shaping the music industry as a whole. Its fan base is diverse, and crosses over into a wide range of styles of music that draw from it and build on its form. Like many genres, it has evolved significantly over the past couple of decades, so much so that many old-school fans say it’s almost unrecognizable today – with many so-called R&B artists blurring the line between rapping and singing. There are still a lot of exciting new artists who are staying true to what the genre is all about, and are still actually, well, Singing. Atlanta, Georgia’s Tyler Noel is one of such artists. She made her mark locally a few years back with the release of the critically acclaimed single “Lights On” on BET and has remained one of the region’s top rising artists to watch.
