CHINGY BACK IN STUDIO
|
Music industry update | Indie artist, Chingy on stage in concert |
St. Louis hasn’t seen or heard another rapper like Chingy since he made his mark back in 2003 when he signed to hip hop star, Ludacris’
record label, Disturbing Tha Peace and released the multi-platinum, award-winning album, “Jackpot” and chart-topping singles like "Right Thurr" and "
Holidae Inn". Over 20 million records later, several sold out international tours and several record label and publishing deals later, and Chingy is now an independent artist who has taken his
music career into his own hands like many artists and bands are doing nowadays. He is still selling out shows like he used to even after a career set back a few years ago that saw him drop off the radar for a while. After making a huge come back a couple of years ago, Chingy has been in and out of the studio, and it seems like big hits are about to start raining down on fans once again. His summer tour with the critically acclaimed R&B group, B2K, one of his biggest in a while marked his official return to hip hop for many fans. That signature nursery rhyme style and feel-good vibe that set him apart and still sets him apart is back and is bringing joy to both old school and new school hip hop fans like never before. His latest single, “Yeah F*ckem” was released on the 1st of November, after a series of back-to-back hits over the past couple of years, including “Sparks Fly”, “Just Like That” and “On Go”, and he’s confirmed that he’s already back in the studio again working on his next record in a video released on Instagram.
