Why did the mad priest keep stroking his cross?

Well keep reading and you may or may not find out somewhere in the course of this exciting news story featuring New York’s critically acclaimed independent solo rock star, Frank Palangi, who is gearing up for 2020 in the best way musicians know how.

As mentioned earlier on in the day, we’ve decided to take the edge off a little bit here at SRL’s news room and do what we can on our part to take a little seriousness out of the business of music, because it is filtering through our speakers and destroying the magic that once made listening to new songs so special. Yes, we know writing songs and playing gigs is a job and we are aware of what happens when people write songs and don’t get paid. No, they no longer get dangled upside down from the balcony of the 100th floor of a skyscraper until they agree to pay - that was in the ‘90s; record labels loose a lot of money - that's what happens. In turn they release a lot of mindless crap that is guaranteed to sell to make up for it; and it does. But who are these mysterious music fans buying mindless crap? Well, stick around here long enough and you just might find out. It may be today, it may be tomorrow or it may be never – keep in mind that the answer to that question is a closely guarded music industry trade secret that every self-respecting music marketeer would safely kill for. We’ve decided to do this by injecting a little humour into whatever we write to ensure that music fans and even the industry professionals that come here always leave with a smile on their faces. What’s so hilarious about the move is that we are not funny, AT ALL. Nevertheless let's see how it goes.

People are crazy. It doesn’t take more than a few close glances at some of the crazy things people do or a closer analysis of some of the crazy things people say to realise we are all secretly mad men and women deep down inside hoping no one else can tell. Like some of the crazy sayings that philosophers have come up with over the years. “Life is short” – try having a hard day at work every single day and see if you are not pushing the arms of whatever analog clocks you find at the office forward every now and again so you can go home early, and then getting in really early the next day and pushing them way back so people think you are always on time. Or how about telling a poor man the old saying, “save your money for a rainy day”; and see if you don’t get smacked in the back of your head – how the hell do you save 10% of nothing?

Or how about this? Adam and Eve were the first people on earth – and they had the nerve to put the word “incest” in the dictionary. We’re ALL disgusting – they would have been better off putting the word “mother f*cker” in its place instead and a “f*cker” for every one of our siblings and relatives because that’s exactly what the Bible is telling us we've been doing and are still doing. Don't you feel so nasty right now? Eeew!

Or how about this one? The best one of all. "Money isn’t everything" – then what the hell are we going to work every single day for? We should all work for free sometimes in that case. Seems like something only someone who wants your money would say.

Or "you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take". Well duh!? And they had the nerve to call that a wise quote.

Or let’s not forget the famous one by Hilary Clinton, “Every moment spent looking back keeps us from moving forward” – obviously she must have been looking way way ahead of the presidential penis to realise it was under attack instead of backing it up like Bill would have really liked after a few joints. Who the hell doesn’t look back, even if just to recall their mistakes or discover things they might have missed every now and again? Still love Hillary to bits though, she's so hot, and our doors will forever remain open if she’s ever looking for some revenge booty.

And aren’t you just sick of seeing Grammarly ads? Hasn’t anyone else heard about Microsoft Word or Office 365? Or taken a class in English Language in high school? Where are people coming up with these crazy new business ideas that add little value to our lives, if any at all? Probably on the toilet because they seem to get crappier and crappier. Whatever happened to learning how to spell and reading a book once in a while to learn how to use words correctly?

So now you know we are all bonkers in one way or the other and it’s all out in the open, no AA meeting or PSA required, let’s get right down to the story of the day, which is about Frank Palangi’s next release.

“Gone Mad” is the forthcoming album by the talented young man who has been hailed as the best thing in rock music since Ozzy bit the head off a live bat live in concert and later claimed he thought it was a rubber toy – drugs huh? Must be something! Frank celebrated 7 illustrious years as an independent artist a couple of years back and things have only gotten better and better for him. He has toured independently several times since and continues to frequent New York’s top live music venues and concerts halls, and get invited back every single time. He is also now getting invited to play the national anthem and perform at prestigious local and national sporting events regularly – a privilege only a few artists and bands ever get to enjoy. His latest appearance was at the Cool Insuring Arena where he kicked off a hockey game with a sensational performance of the US national anthem Jimi Hendrix style. “Gone Mad” is due in stores early 2020 and Frank announced this week that the music video for the title track, “Gone Mad” has now gone into production. Expect behind the scenes clips soon.

So did you figure out why the mad priest kept stroking his cross yet? Well, he was waiting for Jesus to come, of course.
