HONEY SMOKE
There’s a hot new sound bellowing out of the depths of New York, USA’s underground hip hop scene. A sound so familiar yet so new. A sound that’s fresh yet seasoned at the same time. It’s the brand new single by critically acclaimed hip hop artist, Kulture Freedem who is back on the scene after a long hiatus. Also know as MC EWL, Kulture made his debut at the tender age of 16 back in the ‘90s when he signed a record deal with a local independent record label and enjoyed the attention of local radio stations and press. He went on to enjoy a successful career and then dropped off the radar to raise his son. Just over 10 years later he returned in 2017 with a bigger sound and picked up where he left off, and it didn’t take long for him to get back on the radar of old fans and start growing his following again. His latest single, “Honey Smoke” was released on the 7th of February and has enjoyed success not just on the region’s local underground hip hop scene but also regionally as well. This week on the SRL Networks Auditions, we listened to the new single, delved into his extensive discography and had the opportunity to find out about his career goals and objectives now that he’s back in the limelight.
