Music industry update | London, UK | Indie artist, Saachi Sen

London is the music capital of the UK and home to some of the most iconic names in music. Coldplay, David Bowie, Queen, Adele, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones are just some of the world renowned acts who got their start in the music business playing London’s live music venues and busking on the streets of the multicultural city where over 300 languages are spoken. It’s also home to the famous “Hard Rock CafĂ©”, which was founded by Americans, Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton on the 14th of June, 1971 when the Old Park Lane, Mayfair branch was opened.

London is also home to the oldest live music venue in the world, Wilton's which was formed in 1743 in Whitechapel. Its live music scene is vibrant and rich with countless small and large venues, most of which have their doors open to both independent and mainstream artists, and hence it is a really exciting place to start for anyone pursuing a career in music - and plays exceptionally well too of course. Another very old music venue which is still very popular today and is in fact one of the most popular among several is The Roundhouse in Camden where the famous Amy Winehouse played last before leaving us. It has welcomed iconic names like Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, and hosts free iTunes concerts regularly. But there are many more famous live music hotspots and concert halls scattered throughout London including the Brixton Academy, the Southbank Center, Shepherd's Bush Empire, The O2 in Greenwich, the O2 Academy in Brixton, Wembley Arena in Wembley, and of course the Royal Albert Hall in Westminster. With a population of over 9 million, it is safe to say that making an impression on the city’s live music scene is a sure way to make it big in the music industry not just in the UK but internationally as well. One artist who is taking advantage of the UK capital’s thriving live music scene is Saachi Sen, a young singer songwriter who made her debut only a few years back when she was fresh out of high school and has already played and been invited back to play at almost every self-respecting small and medium live music venue and concert hall in the region, as well as a good number of large ones. In 2018 she formed the pop band, Saachi and took her career to the next level with their debut single, “I Need Real Love“ which was released to critical acclaim on the 14th of February. They followed with "Red Coat" in September that same year and then released their debut album, "This Is A Dinosaur" in February 2019. The formation and success of the band meant even more gigs and bigger venues. She played at London’s popular Pride festival at Trafalgar Square back in the summer of 2019 where she put on a show-stopping performance and left fans wanting more. She played the Diwali Festival, also at Trafalgar Square shortly after and she continues to gig vigorously throughout the capital. “Dark”, Saachi’s latest single has been hailed as one of her best records to date and has been received well not just in London but across the whole of the UK as well.
